Junction Networks to Bring VoIP Service, SIP Trunking to Microsoft

Microsoft, Corp. today said that it has selected Junction Networks (News - Alert) as a preferred SIP trunking and gateway service provider for its Microsoft (News - Alert) Response Point small business phone system.

 
The Response Point Service Pack 1 will feature services from Junction Networks pre-configured for simple account activation and maintenance, the companies say. According to Microsoft, the SIP-based voice service from Junction Networks is pre-configured in the Response Point Administrator software.
 
Response Point is sold with “blue-button”-equipped IP phones from Aastra (News - Alert) Technologies Ltd., D-Link Corp. and Quanta Computer. It features speech recognition, which allows users to perform basic and advanced phone functionality with spoken commands, company officials say.
 
Microsoft officials said that their company selected Junction Networks for the provider’s “strict adherence to SIP standards, its commitment to customer satisfaction and for its established phone service for small to medium-sized businesses.”
 
Xuedong Huang, general manager of Microsoft Response Point, said that the company thoroughly tested the service from Junction Networks, and is pleased to align with them to deliver Response Point as a complete VoIP solution for small businesses.
 
“With our focus on ease of use, and Junction Networks’ high-quality SIP trunking and gateway service, small businesses will experience all the benefits of the magic blue button for voice dialing with reliable VoIP service,” Huang said.
 
Rob Wolpov, president at Junction Networks, noted that small business people who want their PBX (News - Alert) in-house and IP-based have another important decision to make in VoIP service providers.
 
He also said that they can realize significant telecom savings, flexibility and location independence, but only if the service is reliable, and voice quality comparable with the PSTN, adding, “We view Microsoft’s choice as a major validation of our service quality.”
 
Junction Networks said that it is offering Response Point customers access to a special promotion that waives the $9.95 monthly service charge, as well as supplies two free phone numbers, one of which is toll-free, for the first 30 days.
 
Junction Networks plans to launch its own authorized reseller program, along with supporting Microsoft’s broad network of resellers.
