PCI-DSS Certification for IVR Payment System Acquired by Prosodie

By Tabitha Naylor, Contributing Writer

French multi-channel online service provider Prosodie has announced that its interactive voice response payment solution has successfully received PCI (News - Alert)-DSS (Data Security Standards) certification. To date, Prosodie is the first French company to ever gain PCI-DSS certification.

Founded in 1986, Prosodie is one of a few network and Internet operators in Europe expanding its data centers into France, Italy and Spain. The PCI-DSS certification ensures the security of sensitive data of cardholders, enabling customers to make payments over the phone and Internet safely and securely.

Prosodie, which was acquired by the Capgemini (News - Alert) Group in July of 2011, deployed the PCI-DSS certified payment platform last year and expanded it to the IVR payment system earlier this year.

The company originally added Persay’s voice biometrics technology back in 2009 to enhance its IVR and speech-enabled services. The certification on its IVR payment system positions Prosodie as the first player in the market to provide a high security online payment solution.

“Continuing along the line of Prosodie’s know-how, it seemed natural to us to secure and certify our IVR payment server, an important channel for remote selling that maintains a direct link between e-merchants and their customers,” said Ronan Souberbielle, Prosodie’s head of the Payment division.

Thello, a rail operator company in Paris, selected Prosodie to manage payment services for transport tickets via telephone and through the Internet. Payment by credit card is secure and confidential, as card details are communicated through Prosodie’s PCI-DSS certified voice server only.

Also using Prosodie’s IVR payment system is Credit Municipal de Paris, a French savings bank located in Paris. The bank uses Prosodie’s automated and secure voice server to offer clients the option to pay their loans.
