Augme Technologies Partners with Voice Assist

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Recently, the Augme Technologies partnered with Voice Assist (News - Alert) to jointly develop and market mobile advertising for the Voice Assist service. According to the agreement, Voice Assist will add mobile advertising with Augme’s HipCricket (News - Alert) AD LIFE platform.

Hipcricket allows users to solve business challenges with ROI-producing mobile marketing and mobile advertising programs. The company offers measurable successes across an industry-leading 200,000 campaigns for its users in consumer packaged goods, health and pharma, broadcast and media, quick service restaurants, retail and mobile enterprise.

Voice Assist is an award-winning hands-free solution created to be compatible with most mobile phones. This includes all Apple iPhones, Windows mobile phones, Android (News - Alert) devices, and BlackBerry phones. Users can access a virtual assistant for hands-free, voice-activated communication with just a push of one button.

The companies will join hands to sell the capability to mobile carriers, consumer brands, media outlets, retail and other industry sectors, the company stated in a news release.

“As mobile advertising continues to grow, advertisers are becoming increasingly more interested in targeting mobile consumers with location-based offers. Augme owns foundational, patent-protected technology that is being utilized by Voice Assist to localize content. Voice Assist technology makes it possible to advertise to a captive audience,” said Paul Arena, CEO, Augme Technologies. “The capability Augme provides enables a localized service response that, when combined with voice recognition technology of Voice Assist, will help create a unique, mobile application-based voice advertising platform.”

Augme recently announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent No. 8,219,642 named “System and Method for Adding Targeted Content in a Web Page.” The new patent provides foundational claims and consists of a priority date of October 28 1999, as well as coverage with the help of 2019 that enhances Augme's already strong patent coverage including the delivery of targeted, localized and interactive content to mobile and Internet consumers.
