Handygo Technologies Private Ltd.’s interactive voice response (IVR) solutions provide information on everything from market prices to agricultural and cropping advisory to women and children’s healthcare. The company, who clearly boasts an extensive customer/client base, has launched the service in regional IVR, with SMS and Voice SMS support, and is now available in 18 different languages.

This new enhancement significantly reduces one of the largest challenges faced in the IVR and speech recognition industry – the language barrier.

“Very soon, the company will launch same service in GPRS application as well,” Dipanker Mukherjee, COO of Handygo Technologies, stated in a release this week. “We have launched the product seeing shortage of accessible information on agricultural advisory, market rates and weather scenario,” he added.

Subscribers will be sensitized on its usage, scope and benefits of using the service for enhancing their yield and production. The service also offers location-based services to provide accurate information to individuals residing in specific geographical areas. Over the last three years alone, the company has received an outstanding 10 million queries.

Earlier this spring, Handygo teamed up with non-for-profit organization CABI to provide farmers and the India’s rural population with mobile-based agriculture information. Under the terms of the partnership, the Delhi-based IVR Company was to provide technical solutions to help farmers and the rural population access CABI’s data. The partnership further aimed to provide detailed, up-to-date information on topics ranging from health to education to finance to fisheries.
