Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC (News - Alert)) and Lingotek announced a new machine translation solution incorporating the SAIC Omnifluent Translate hybrid machine translator (HMT) within Lingotek’s Collaborative Translation Platform. This was announced at the Association of Language Companies 2012 conference.

The per-word pricing model, available exclusively to Language Service Providers (LSP), allows access to on-demand corporate-level machine translation and workflow management technology.

“This offering leverages the best of both technologies to integrate high quality hybrid machine translation, translation memory and workflow management into a single, collaborative solution,” stated Jonathan Litchman, SAIC senior vice president. “It simplifies and accelerates the translation process from end-to-end.”

Omnifluent Translate is true hybrid machine technology with the fluency of statistical machine translation and the informativeness of rule-based machine translation. It can be customized according to customer’s domain including highly nuanced terminology and domain-specific vocabulary. Omnifluent Translate and its translation memory are directly in the customer’s control to choose the quality and cost of translation necessary.

The Lingotek Collaborative Translation Platform provides enterprise business customers ways to leverage their communities with rapid, accurate translations and cost-conscious growth.  This is done by collaborative translation technologies, workflow management and community collaboration.

Collaboration Translation Platforms are hosted and premises-based. The software, located in the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), provides completely transparent access to every aspect of the translation process.
