Framework Now Enables NHS Bodies to Procure Speech Recognition

NHS bodies will now be able to procure digital dictation and speech recognition solutions in a quick, easy and economic manner.
A procurement framework has been introduced by NHS Commercial Solutions to this end enabling NHS trusts to procure a digital dictation and speech recognition solution through a reduced number of suppliers.
BigHand, a provider of digital dictation and speech recognition technology to the U.K. Healthcare market, have been awarded onto the Framework as the highest ranked supplier following a full European procurement process
Boasting a 20+ strong development and products team based in the U.K., BigHand notes that the European procurement process included evaluations assessing Financial Stability, Professional Capability, Technical Capability, Experience and Value for Money.
“To see BigHand named as the highest scoring supplier for both digital dictation and speech recognition, following a process this thorough and complete, is very pleasing. The BigHand team worked hard to demonstrate clearly to NHS Commercial Solutions how we partner with all our NHS customers individually to deliver real value for them. The competition is significant and this outcome acts as an independent vote on quality for what BigHand offers its customers,” said James Kippenberger, managing director, BigHand, UK Healthcare.
“We hope this Framework now makes it easy for other Trusts to join the expanding BigHand client base, and start benefiting immediately from our services, as well as learning from each other, to continually improve their clinical correspondence processes.”
