Manufacturer of mobile and stationary dictation systems Philips Speech Processing has announced the availability of its new SpeechControl4Mac software, saying that it will allow users to integrate Philips’ (News - Alert) SpeechMike with Mac operating systems.

Austria-based Philips Speech Processing has been the driving force in delivering dictation and speech technologies to users around the world. With its SpeechControl software, users can configure their SpeechMike dictation microphone to personal specifications for an enhanced dictation experience, according to company officials.

“With the growing popularity of Apple (News - Alert) products and speech recognition in corporate environments, we realized companies need to be able to integrate the two systems easily and seamlessly, with future-proof software that will maintain its integrity over the years,” said Wolfgang Spannlang, product manager at Philips Speech Processing.

Philips SpeechControl4Mac software fully integrates with Dragon Dictate 2.5 for Mac. And, most Dragon Dictate commands can be used on the first pass through. Moreover, the software enables users to configure the SpeechMike III to personal working style settings and change the buttons to personal preferences for ease of use.

In addition, SpeechControl for Mac operating systems come with two recording modes for intuitive operation -- record toggle or push-to-talk; and the ability to switch from Mac to Windows operating software with the click of a button.

SpeechControl4Mac is compatible with the entire SpeechMike line. It, however, was specifically designed for SpeechMike III, the newest line of dictation microphones, which was ergonomically designed with an anti-microbial casing, helping minimize the risk of spreading bacteria and infection.
