With a cash prize up to $100,000, LG Mobile Phones is challenging the fastest thumbs in U.S.

With a cash prize up to $100,000 and a trip to the grand stage in New York City, LG Mobile Phones is challenging the fastest thumbs in the nation to the ultimate text messaging challenge called "The 2010 LG U.S. National Texting Championship." As a leader in QWERTY keyboard devices, LG understands the importance of texting. Considering all of the text messaging advancements LG Mobile Phones provides, this competition still continues to impress.

History shows that players will have to 'push perfection' and record breaking pace to be the 2010 Texting Champion. This year's winner will also be eligible to participate in the first-ever LG Text for Good Challenge: The chance to put an incremental $50,000 in the pockets of the winner and charity of his or her choice.

Encompassing three days of intense game play, the fourth annual LG U.S. National Texting Championship will test each player's texting speed, accuracy and dexterity through a variety of thumb-numbing challenges. Competitors will need to type phrases on their LG handsets exactly as they appear on LG plasma screens, while distracted by blind folds, complex phrases and marathon game play. The Final Four contestants will face off in mid-September in New York City with one player ultimately being crowned the LG U.S. National Texting Champion.
Entering the competition is easy! Preliminary texting competitions include:

"LG Texting Battle," starting June 15th, will air during hit shows on MTV, encouraging texting adversaries to enter by texting game-play phrases to designated short codes. Keep your eye out for Kate Moore, the Des Moines, Iowa native who claimed the texting glory in 2009. She'll be the one giving directions and back to compete for the 2010 title.

Every Thursday people who like LG Texter on Facebook (News - Alert) can join weekly tournaments by logging-on to the 'LG Texter' fan page and selecting the Play + Win! tab. The ten fastest texters in each tournament will move on to the Online Finals and be one step closer to a trip to NYC and the Grand Prize. The page already has over 40,000 fans and 100,000 game plays!

Concert goers at the Bamboozle Roadshow will have two chances to qualify for the Online Finals at every show with on-site texting challenges broadcast via LED screens.

Throughout designated weeks Wild Card participants will receive a text with a short phrase and the first person to reply with the exact phrase (spelling and punctuation count) will qualify for the Online Finals. Wild Card Week dates and times are a surprise, but you can text LG to 28683 for game play alerts.

The LG U.S. National Texting Championship began in 2007, when LG first set off on its quest for the fastest thumbs in the U.S. Over 500 contestants battled each other for $25,000 in cash and prizes but only one thirteen year-old Morgan Pozgar was launched into texting history as the first LG National Texting Champion. In 2008 a Clyde, Ohio resident, Nathan Schwartz, beat more than 15,000 entrants to take home $50,000 in prize money. Last year, Kate Moore out of Des Moines, Iowa took home the title and $50,000 out-texting over 250,000 participants.
