Openwave Enters into Collaboration with Digital Solutions Group

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Openwave Systems Inc., a software company with mobile Internet solutions, reportedly has entered into a collaboration with Digital Solutions Group, an African outsource provider for total fixed-mobile convergence solutions and relationship marketing.

Openwave officials said that the agreement is for DSG to distribute the company’s products while providing value-added professional services to operators in Africa and sub-Saharan markets.

Company officials said that the solutions will consist of Openwave’s context-aware mobile internet mediation and mobile analytics offerings, with advanced professional services from DSG.

“DSG consistently identifies innovative companies that have a proven track record of providing winning solutions for partners and customers,” said Yaron Assabi, CEO, Digital Solutions Group, in a statement.

Assabi said that the company’s strengths in providing professional value-added services, combined with Openwave’s mobile internet mediation solutions provides a compelling combination that the company expects will be unparalleled by competitive offerings. Company officials said that the initial roll out of the software solution will be powered by the Openwave Mobile Internet ReadySet -- a low-cost, prepackaged platform that provides operators with a central point from which to offer new, revenue-generating, mobile Internet services.

“Operators in emerging markets are exploring innovative ways to deliver easy to deploy mobile internet services that can help them effectively compete in the open internet,” said Alan Park, senior vice president of worldwide sales, Openwave.

Park said that Openwave’s context-aware mediation and mobile Internet solutions allow partners and customers to create and deliver compelling mobile Internet services that can help them add value and intelligence to all types of traffic including Web, voice, messaging and video.

“We are pleased with our collaboration with DSG and the ability to enable superior online experiences on connected devices,” he said.
