NCH Software's Express Dictation Software Available as iPhone App
By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor
NCH Software, a provider of audio, video, business, VoIP tools and utilities, has reportedly announced that its Express Dictate digital dictation software is now available as a free iPhone app.
Express Dictate is known as Pocket Dictate on Apple’s (News - Alert) app store. The software allows users to record and send dictation directly from their PC, Mac, PocketPC, Palm, and Smartphone. The software which is a professional dictation voice recorder is available for the iPhone (News - Alert) now and it works like a traditional Dictaphone with HIPAA compliant for secure encryption.
Dictation and transcription software is required by accounting firms, medical practices, and law firms as it reduces secretarial needs and time consumption. A lawyer for example will be able to dictate at the courthouse, and send the audio file by e-mail to a transcriptionist immediately, according to NCH sources.
“Express Dictate is the most useful productivity tool in my arsenal,” said Richard Georges, a St. Petersburg, Fla.-based lawyer whose practice handles real property, corporations, wills, trusts and estates law. “You can email the dictation, send it to a specified location on any computer in your network, and it sits in the active application tray, just waiting to be used.”
The software is compatible with any speaker and microphone combination. The user needs to only dictate into the phone and send the file by e-mail. Law firms will be able to function without secretarial services traditionally needed for dictation. The time saved for dictations, typing etc. can be utilized in meeting and spending more time with clients. Same holds good for doctors who need to maintain a record of all patient information starting from diagnosis to treatment.
Express Dictate is compatible with Express Scribe transcription software which supports audio as well as video playback for enabling fast and efficient transcription, company officials said.
NCH Software provides over 80 easy-to-use audio, video, business and VoIP software solutions that enhance the productivity and usability for small businesses and consumers. They cater to the specific needs of various businesses besides including all salient features of software produced by well known brands. Company officials also confirmed that the dictation software will soon be available for the Android (News - Alert) powered phones also.
