Bell Mobility Plans to Offer SpinVox Voice-to-Text Service

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

SpinVox, a global provider of voice to content messaging, has announced that Bell Mobility plans to offer the SpinVox (News - Alert) voicemail-to-text service across its wireless network. Bell Mobility plans to make this service available immediately.

This voicemail-to-text feature will be standard in the company’s Fun 25, Smart 40 and Smart Combo 100 mobile plans or as an a-la-carte service for CAN$5.00 per month. Customers can now subscribe to the service and begin enjoying the benefits of having their voicemail messages automatically converted to text by SpinVox and sent directly to their mobile phone through an SMS message.

"Expanding the SpinVox footprint with the largest and most recognized communications brand in Canada is a major milestone for our company," said Dominick Tolli, Senior Vice President for SpinVox North America, in a statement. "SpinVox is built on doing one thing incredibly well – we deliver a proven voice to content service that is reliable, scalable and highly accurate.”

Every voicemail-to-text message will include caller ID details and a link to the original message audio file if users want to listen to the message. Users will also have the added convenience of a one-click option for replying to their voicemail-to-text message either by voice or text and is available across Canada for SpinVox conversion of both English and French language voice messages.

“Our commitment to delivering best-in-class service to Tier One carriers has been recognized yet again in Canada and now with the addition of Bell Mobility extends access to the SpinVox experience, adding more than 20 million Canadian wireless subscribers to the customers we currently serve through carrier and Unified Communications (News - Alert) partnerships on five continents across the globe,” continued Tolli.

Voice-to-text services from SpinVox are now available in both bundled mobile plans and as a-la-carte service with Canadian carriers such as Bell, Rogers, SaskTel and TELUS (News - Alert). To date, SpinVox is the only multilingual voice-to-text service available in Canada with the capability to convert voice messages in both English and French. SpinVox is also available in German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish languages.

SpinVox made waves this time last year when the company announced with Avaya and Mature Software that they had jointly developed a new solution that enabled mobile users to read their voice messages.

Earlier this year, the company’s VoxLinks solution made an impact on Unified Messaging and Unified Communications. SpinVox’s VoxLinks addresses the practical needs of the mobile user as a recipient to reply/respond to SMS text messages in voice.
