Ditech Networks Unveils toktok Voice Application and SimulScribe Voice-to-Text Services
By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor
Ditech Networks, a provider of mobile voice processing solutions, recently introduced its new suite of SimulScribe (News - Alert) voice-to-text services as well as its new toktok voice applications at the BroadSoft Connections 2009.
According to a press release, the new toktok Voice Applications Solution from Ditech is a compelling integration of voice and Web applications. It enables carriers to offer their subscribers with unique, speech-powered productivity and call control features. It provides voice web access over a regular phone call.
This application runs on carrier’s network, unlike other voice applications that run on devices or servers. This feature enables carriers to offer revenue generating, voice-enabled applications to any of its customers, irrespective of whether they own a smart phone or not.
Moreover, the toktok Application Suite will allow service providers to provide their subscribers with toktok’s speech enabled, mid-call functionality. This functionality is not found in any other voice application. This was possible in coordination with Ditech’s mStage Media Processor (News - Alert), said officials.
Furthermore, toktok has an open API (application programming interface) that will facilitate developers to create compelling applications, which carriers can take to market.
In the release, Leslie Ferry, vice president of marketing, BroadSoft (News - Alert), said the toktok application has demonstrated how Voice Command Integration delivers a compelling service, which facilitates consumers to be more productive and safe.
Apart from toktok voice application, Ditech also introduced a new suite of SimulScribe voice-to-text (VTT) transcription services. In this regard, Ditech signed an exclusive strategic partnership deal with SimulScribe, a provider of voicemail-to-text provider in the U.S, in September, in order to offer this new voice-to-text transcription services. Simulscribe’s fully automated voice-to-text solution, SimulAuto, was integrated within the toktok application.
Currently, Ditech Networks (News - Alert) is offering SimulScribe's SimulAuto, SimulHybrid, and ScribeALL products. SimulAuto is an on-premise or cloud service, which is completely automated, real-time API transcription service that runs on voice recognition technology with SimulScribe's proprietary models. Whereas, SimulHybrid adds human-based correction to SimulScribe's VTT technology, in order to deliver high-quality voice transcription. ScribeALL is a real-time platform that is designed for transcription of any file, regardless of the application.
At the BroadSoft Connections 2009, Ditech discussed that the combination of its Voice Quality Assurance (VQA) technology with SimulScribe’s VTT service enabled carriers to offer users with voice transcription of the highest possible quality.
Ditech said that voice recognition accuracy could be considerably improved by utilizing VQA technology to make clear speech as well as reduce background noise.
In the press release, Karl Brown (News - Alert), vice president of marketing, Ditech Networks, said “Making voice the gateway to new value-added applications will allow operators to leverage their core competencies to gain new revenue streams.”
