Nexcess Expands Web Hosting Reseller Plan, Magento SIP

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

NEXCESS.NET LLC, a Web hosting service provider, and Magento hosting solutions company, have announced that its Magento Secure Isolated Platform (SIP) e-commerce web hosting plans will be expanded. With the new reseller plan, customers will be able to resell Magento SIP plans, according to the company.

Each SIP uses a top of the line Dell (News - Alert) quad-core server, running highly optimized and secured CentOS Linux and with R1Soft CDP “Continuous Data Protection” backups running every half hour. Also, each SIP comes with a pre-installed and optimized Magento store - running the most recent Magento software and optimized for increased performance, stability and security.

Launched in May 2009, the original SIP plans are a tightly integrated combination of the popular Magento e-commerce software. To guarantee speed, reliability and security, these plans were merged with optimized high-end hardware and software, states the company. The reseller will get each SIP reseller plan with five separate SIPs – approximately the same as a SIP100 –  at a discounted price.

Chris Wells, CEO of Nexcess, said: “The SIP plans have really taken off. They're popular with both small and large clients, including Fortune 500 companies which we've signed deals with in the last few weeks. Even the official Magento demo stores have been moved to SIPs. Regular reseller plans are often a popular way for individuals or small companies to offer their own web hosting services to their clients.”

Within the next month, Nexcess plans to begin offering a standardized SIP plan based around the Magento Enterprise platform. Resellers can purchase blocks of five SIPs at a time and each block comes with all the resources they need to run up to five Magento-based sites.

Recently, Nexcess announced the success of its new Magento SIP hosting plans. According to the company, in the six weeks since the launch, the SIPs have become their fastest-selling hosting plan. The popularity of the plans has necessitated adding new SIP servers faster than anticipated, claims the company.
