By Marisa Torrieri, TMCnet Editor

InVox will provide its business customers with voice-to-text service so they can get their voicemails in quick, readable form sans human transcription.

The Sunnyvale, California-based business telephony service provider announced this week that it tapped Yap, the creator of a fully automated voice-to-text platform, for an application that will complement its cloud-based interactive voice response (IVR) product.

“Our guiding principle at InVox is phone-system automation,” Michael Lotus, InVox’s chief executive officer, said. “Yap is the perfect complement to our service with its automated conversion of voice-to-text.”

InVox already scored headlines this week, launching its "Intelligent Voice Solutions"  service for businesses- which the business telecom service provider calls “the first of its kind to offer IVR,” - on Tuesday at ITEXPO West.

The new service is being demonstrated in its beta form this week over at ITEXPO (News - Alert) in Meeting Room A, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

According to InVox, the new Intelligent Voice Solutions service offers high-end IVR functionality in a communications cloud-based, telephony-as-a-service format. The new service seamlessly integrates with existing PBX (News - Alert) systems and optimizes business productivity.

“Our companies are pushing the technology envelope with the addition of advanced, fully automated voicemail-to-text functionality as a standard feature of the service,” said Yap CEO Igor Jablokov in a statement. “InVox is clearly differentiating itself in a dynamic marketplace with innovation and convenience.”
