Next-Gen Mobile Search Tool GetFugu to Debut in September

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Next generation mobile search tool GetFugu is all set to make its debut in an upcoming industry event next month.

GetFugu has planned workshops for the event and also intends to demonstrate its four "See It" vision recognition (ARL), "Say It" voice recognition (VRL), "Find It" location recognition (GRL), and "Get It" Hot-Spotting services.

The new mobile search tool will help consumers save time searching for entertainment, news, sport results, shopping. Consumers can do all these by the innovative use of their mobile phones and don’t have to type URL addresses for commercial transactions.

An interview with the company's co-founder, Rich Jenkins, appears on the company’s website. He describes GetFugu’s initial strategy to address iPhone (News - Alert) users with GetFugu's application.

Jenkins notes that they finally have an application that will address advertisers demand for a solution that can hold a one-on-one conversation with consumers. He claims the company is signing the global 360 million brands as fast as possible.

“With GetFugu, you can take a photo of a logo on your sneaker, or a store window, and it'll take you wherever the company wants you to go, whether it's to its website or to a coupon. Or you can access the brand by voice, saying 'Coca Cola,' and it'll take you right there,” he said in a release.

You can even buy a pair of jeans with GetFugu's new application, said Jenkins.

GetFugu, Inc., recently announced that its laboratories have seized upon an advanced technology of facial recognition. The company has decided to embed this technology in its software and make it available to the more than 2 billion mobile phones around the world.

This application allows GetFugu users to search a person’s Web identity by looking at him through their mobile's camera. Jenkins expects this application will be initially picked by the dating world but later find place in the corporate world.
