Voxeo Extends Global Reach with New Carrier-Class IVR Hosting Facility in Germany

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

Voice application platform and hosted services provider Voxeo has launched a new data center designed for its IVR and voice application hosting services in Frankfurt, Germany.

The new multi-million dollar hosting facility is geared toward meeting the increasing on-demand IVR and application hosting needs of Voxeo's banking, telecommunications and Global 1,000 customers, according to Michael Codini (News - Alert), managing director of Voxeo Germany.

"By putting the world's most widely deployed standards-based voice platform alongside the industry-leading VoiceObjects (News - Alert) service creation environment in an ultra-secure hosting facility we provide an unbeatable service offering,” he said.

And that investment should help keep existing regional customers – o2, Postbank, SAP, Swisscom (News - Alert), T-Mobile, Versatel and Vodafone – stocked with a complete range of IVR hosting solutions

The move also underscores the importance of the DACH region – a Germanic acronym for Germany, Austria and Switzerland – for Voxeo.

Extending its footprint in Europe has been part of a larger plan for Voxeo aimed at leveraging existing IVR and VoIP services to lower enterprises’ costs in the region.

As TMCnet reported in December, the Orlando, Florida-based company acquired VoiceObjects, a German provider of self-service application development and analytics solutions.

Voxeo was able to roll VoiceObjects list of high-profile enterprises and mobile carriers –Adobe, Citibank, Hershey, IKEA, Kellogg, Postbank, SAP, Swisscom, T-Mobile, Vodafone (News - Alert) and Volkswagen – into its existing portfolio.

And now the new data center is expected to expand its capabilities in the region.

“This million euro investment in IVR hosting capacity underscores Voxeo's commitment to the DACH region," says Michael Codini, managing director of Voxeo Germany.

In addition to being equipped with German language speech recognition, German text-to-speech, bilingual English German text-to-speech and speech capabilities, the new hosted platform is equipped to function in most other major European languages.

While the global economic downturn continues to alter the telecom landscape in many ways, both good and bad, it has certainly created a growing demand for cost saving services such as hosted IVR.

And Voxeo is taking full advantage of the shifting landscape by delivering IVR to a growing European market on the heels of its recent growth of its U.K.-based hosting service, which now counts some of Europe's leading companies as customers.

"Voxeo has had success in the UK with its hosted solutions and, with the addition of the VoiceObjects team in Germany, which it acquired in 2008, Voxeo has built up a solid European capability,” said Aphrodite Brinsmead, associate Analyst at Datamonitor.  Opening a data center in Germany will allow Voxeo to grow its presence further, meet increasing demand and continue meeting stringent SLAs."

In Fact, the Voxeo hosting roster includes a wide range of toll free and local telephone numbers throughout in the DACH region, as well as inbound and outbound capability on Voxeo's global carrier network, according to the company.

In addition, the new facility offers co-location and managed server options for on-LAN deployment of voice application.

The expansion in Frankfurt takes Voxeo's VoiceXML (News - Alert) and CCXML hosting capacity in Europe to over 10,000 ports, according to the company.

The Frankfurt operation is the company’s fifth data joining existing locations in Slough, U.K., and Orlando, Florida, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Atlanta, Georgia.

Voxeo delivers a full IVR hosting solution committed to openness, strict adherence to standards and multi-vendor support backed by Voxeo's pre-deployed, geographically distributed Prophecy Hosting facilities. Prophecy Hosting facilities are built on Voxeo's pure SIP Prophecy IVR Platform and select components are optimized for multi-tenant voice application hosting.

“It is reassuring for them that Voxeo's security, reliability and scalability exceed their expectations," said Codini.
