TeleMessage, Sprint Introduces Text to Landline Capability, Hollywood Voice Messages
By Jessica Kostek, TMCnet Channel Editor
TeleMessage in conjunction with Sprint (News - Alert) has announced today the introduction of its Text to Landlines capabilities that will allow Sprint users to text from their mobile phones to landlines. The service will also allow Sprint text messages originating in the United States to be delivered to landline destinations in Mexico with no additional cost.
Now there isn’t an excuse to not check in with your grandparents by texting them from your mobile phone to their landline number. Moreover, won’t they be surprised with they hear President Barack Obama delivering you message!
"With TeleMessage's service, we are offering our customers limitless ways and means to reach friends and family who do not have mobile phones. We are moving beyond the basic mobile-to-mobile text message with fun new features that enhance messaging as well as international capabilities," said Jeff Adelmann, Director of Product Management, of Sprint.
Celebrity voices, enacted by top voice impersonators, not only deliver personalized messages, but are equipped with their own celebrated catchphrases. Voices include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Barack Obama, Bill Cosby, Joan Rivers, Dr. Ruth, and Rosie Perez.
"Sprint continues to recognize that our customers are always looking for new tools in communication, thus, providing cost-effective Text to Landline services, extends our mission to provide freedom of mobility to all our users," Adelmann continued.
To select a celebrity voice for messages users call a special IVR number from their Sprint phone. Text to Landline messages will use the selected celebrity voice until the user decides to change it, company officials explain in a statement released today.
"Our expanded Text to Landline features, used by Sprint, unites the gap between generations that do not communicate through the same mediums. Always-mobile teenagers now have the potential to send a quick text message to their parents and grandparents tied to landlines," said TeleMessage CEO Guy Levit. "TeleMessage is creating new Text to Landline features, bridging communications both geographically and between wired and mobile devices."
