Shaw Industries Group, Inc., a carpet manufacturer and floor covering provider, reportedly has adopted Vangard’s Mobile Voice Platform to add productivity ‘hands-free, eyes-free’ voice-directed capabilities to its existing mobile supply chain applications.
Vangard Voice Systems officials said that Shaw will leverage their Mobile Voice Platform technology to further speed product delivery, customer responsiveness and achieve additional reductions in operational costs across the company’s business processes.
Officials said that MVP enables enterprises to achieve tactical, operational and strategic advantage through the deployment of voice-directed data capture and application control capabilities to existing mobile applications and business processes.
“Shaw Industries is renowned as an industry ‘game changer’ through their relentless search, and adoption of new forward-thinking technologies,” said Bob Bova, president and CEO of Vangard Voice Systems.
He continued: “Particularly now during a struggling economy, we are pleased, but not surprised that Shaw again seized the opportunity to exploit another innovative technology, this time our Mobile Voice Platform, to drive down operational costs, improve customer service and increase employee productivity and safety.”
Shaw Industries said that it selected Vangard’s Mobile Voice Platform because the tool can non-invasively add sophisticated voice capabilities to the company’s existing applications, improving operational efficiencies and cutting costs.
Officials said that using MVP, the company hopes to avoid the expensive and often risky trade-offs traditionally related to replacing or rebuilding existing and already proven mobile applications or business processes, in order to adopt voice productivity.
Heath Ridley, director of engineering and systems, Shaw Industries Group said that Vangard’s Mobile Voice Platform provides the company’s IT professionals the ability to add high productivity voice capabilities wherever it sees opportunities to improve customer service and reduce costs throughout the supply chain.
“By employing Vangard’s voice solutions, we will further improve employee safety as well, by providing a hands-free, eyes free mobile capability that enables mobile employees to remain fully aware of the conditions that surround them, while achieving new levels of personal productivity and accuracy,” Ridley said.
