Improving Campus Communications with Speech-Based Applications

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

As technological advancements continue to be leveraged by universities to improve student / professor communications, emergency notifications and registration, IT departments are also feeling the strain.

The increased usage of technologies means IT departments must maintain large amounts of data on the networks while also guaranteeing usability and efficiency.

To ease these burdens, speech technologies can help cut IT and telecom costs by voice enabling applications for the university.

To provide greater insight into the benefits of voice enabling applications in the university, a TMC (News - Alert) Webinar event sponsored by Nuance will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at 1:30 PM ET.

This free Webinar event will focus on how caller satisfaction can be increased through 24x7 services as well as how productivity gains can be achieved though better management of call spikes as well as reducing the number of calls handled by operators.

The Webinar will also examine a case study from the University Of Texas Southwestern Medical Center - an academic medical center and hospital, and their experience implementing a speech-enabled auto attendant.

Join guest presenters Elwyn Hull, Telecommunications Director, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Hakan Kilic, Product Manager, Employee Productivity Suite, Nuance (News - Alert) along with Brendan B. Read, Senior Contributing Editor - Customer Interaction Solutions, TMCnet, for this must attend event!

The presentation will also be followed by a live Q&A session.   Be sure to Register Now!
