Wavelink Corporation has announced a strategic partnership with Vangard Voice Systems, a provider of mobile voice technology solutions. This agreement enables Wavelink to extend its voice offering beyond the warehouse and distribution centers and into cross-industry data collection applications including mobile field services, sales and mobile inspections.

 

The company plans to use Vanguard Voice Systems AccuSpeech Mobile technology to enhance the Wavelink Speakeasy (News - Alert) product family. This technology will initially deliver text-to-speech and speech-to-text functionality to existing client-resident mobile applications.

Speakeasy currently enables Wavelink Terminal Emulation and Wavelink Industrial Browser customers to add voice capabilities in a 100 percent client-side, speaker-independent and hardware-independent manner.

The integration of AccuSpeech Mobile technology will enable Wavelink Speakeasy to offer the benefits of voice technology to a wide variety of device-resident mobile applications. At the end of 2008, Wavelink will also be offering Speakeasy for Wavelink Studio, a widely adopted mobile application platform.
