Under a recent agreement with Telephonetics VIP, network integration provider ONI, a Cisco (News - Alert) Gold Certified Partner, will provide the Telephonetics VIP portfolio of automation solutions to customers who want to deploy speech recognition automation on Cisco’s Call Manager.

 

Through this alliance, both ONI and Telephonetics VIP want to leverage the growing speech recognition and IP markets. This announcement follows the successful implementation of Telephonetics VIP’s speech-driven call handling solution, ContactPortal, via SIP, on Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

 

Aberdeen (News - Alert) Research recently reported that speech self-service has become an essential application for organizations who want to deliver the best customer service possible. Aberdeen predicts that the implementations of the technology will triple in the next one to two years. The Yankee Group (News - Alert) has also predicted a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in the IP market of 31.4 percent, reaching nearly $3.3 billion in 2010.

 

Mike Matthews , director of Product Management, Telephonetics VIP said in a statement that ONI is one of only a few Cisco Gold Certified Partners with IP Communications specialised status in the UK, which demonstrates an excellent standard of networking competency, service and support.

 

He indicated that with the continued growth in the IP market, ONI were their natural choice when choosing a partner in the convergence community. The companies believe that the partnership will allow customers to have easy access to high quality IP and voice automation products from a single supplier. Also, the complementary activities of ONI will bring new options for customers. Thanks to Telephonetics VIP, ONI will be able to broaden their portfolio for the public sector initiatives in which they are currently active.
