IVR Operations Supplier Voxware Creating Next Gen Tech with Airwatch

By Jaclyn Allard, TMCnet Copy Editor

AirWatch, a provider of Mobile Device and WLAN Management software, recently released the AirWatch (News - Alert) software appliance in August 2010. The company offered its mobile device management product preloaded on a dedicated software appliance. AirWatch officials revealed that the company was offering three flexible delivery options: software deployed behind the corporate firewall, Software as a Service and a software appliance.

Voxware, a leading supplier of software for voice-driven warehousing operations, has decided to embed AirWatch’s next-generation technology into their solution, making it the first voice-based software vendor to provide MDM functionality. John Marshall, AirWatch’s CEO, has commented that the software appliance "provides all the benefits of an MDM product, but without the cost often associated with them.”

“The addition of the AirWatch software appliance means all companies, regardless of their size, IT resources or devices used, now have access to industry-leading mobile device management functionality,” company officials said in a statement. With AirWatch embedded in their solution, Voxware (News - Alert) has the ability to improve the technical support provided to its end users, streamlining and automating the provisioning of new Voxware releases and updates.

Web-based and highly scalable, AirWatch’s multi-tenant architecture provides ISVs and OEM manufacturers with a single, real-time, integrated view of all mobile devices deployed across each customer’s enterprise. In a statement, Voxware CEO, Scott Yetter, said “Embedding AirWatch in our software allows us to continue our commitment to hardware independence, while also providing an even higher level of technical support and responsiveness. AirWatch provides us with a key differentiator that further sets us apart from the competition.”

It was just mid-year 2010 that TMC (News - Alert) reported that AirWatch announced the release of AirWatch 5.11, which includes the globalization of the AirWatch management console and the addition of standard APIs for improved communication and deeper integration between AirWatch and other enterprise systems.
