By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

Collaboration with Yap (News - Alert) announced by CallTower. CallTower’s unified communication (UC) customers will be offered voice-to-text service through this collaboration. CallTower's (News - Alert) new and existing Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) customers are currently offered free voice to text.

Users will be able to read voice mail messages as emails or text messages with this new service powered by Yap. The voice mail-to-text transcription service is fully automated and is also a powerful productivity tool. A computer or a smartphone is required to quickly read the transcribed voice mail messages or share them with co-workers through email. Transcribed voice mail messages can also be archived for future reference.

In a press release, Bob Barnes, executive vice president of sales, marketing and business development for CallTower, said, "Voice to text provides a better way for users of CallTower's UCaaS service to access and manage their voice mail. Once voice mail messages are converted to text they become a very effective real-time communication tool, much like IM and e-mail."

Barnes added that CallTower is pleased to work with Yap to provide this service to the customers. The customers will definitely enjoy the flexibility and options provided by the service.

As compared to the time taken to dial a voice mail box or navigate tedious touchtone menu systems, messages can be read much faster with the automated voice to text for voice mail. Voice mails can be read and responded to in a text format through email or text message. The completely automated transcription process helps to maintain privacy.

Users can share the converted voice mail messages with others. If necessary, a sound file is also delivered with messages to understand tone or emotion. Historic voice mail messages can be found using Outlook searching capabilities.

In a press release, Igor Jablokov, CEO of Yap, said, "CallTower customers will appreciate the convenience and flexibility of converting voice mail to text for real-time communications. Yap’s accuracy rivals those that rely on human intervention and the transcriptions are delivered instantaneously and securely."

CallTower is the top provider of UCaaS. A company's voice and data communications is transformed into a strategic business tool by CallTower.
