SMS Media Group Adds IVR Services to Mobile Cloud

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

SMS Media Group has added SMS 2 IVR (interactive voice response) to its arsenal of mobile messaging solutions.

Officials with SMS Media Group said that the new IVR services will allow companies to include a toll-free or local IVR number in text messages to be used as a response mechanism.

"Integrating IVR with SMS is a natural fit and provides an easy way for mobile subscribers to be instantly connected to a businesses' call center or hear additional information," said Sheri Wells, CEO of SMS Media Group, in a statement.

Company officials said that the key features of the SMS 2 IVR services include unlimited call handling; call forwarding; unlimited extensions; voicemail boxes; custom greetings; music on hold; and enhanced call reports.

According to company officials, SMS Media Group SMS 2 IVR can be used in conjunction with the company's mobile cloud or mobile ad network connected to 700 plus carriers worldwide.

Founded by SMS expert, Sheri Wells, SMS Media Group (SMSMG) is a mobile media company that specializes in permission-based SMS communications to cell phones.

SMSMG's web-based mobile messaging solution, SMSdelivery, is a Software as a Service platform designed for any size business to send mobile communications.

Recently SMS Media Group announced that it is making its SMS Ad Manager available to mobile operators, publishers and developers that want to monetize text messages with advertisements through a new API.

Similar strategies have been made by Google (News - Alert), Microsoft and Facebook, who have seen an increase in ad revenues since opening up their APIs.

Publishers are looking for ways to monetize text messages with ads. The company's open API allows publishers to retrieve a targeted, text ad to insert into a text message, so that the message can be monetized.

As a publisher's SMS volume grows, it becomes highly important to be able to monetize those messages to cover the costs of delivery and create new revenue streams.

The SMS ad manager provides an accurate view of available inventory, reporting on impressions and unique click tracking through short mobile URLs. The system also controls frequency of ads delivered to a user and offers the retrieval of various text ad formats.

The SMS ad manager provides advertisers trusted and reliable reporting by managing the ad serving between the publisher and advertiser.
