AT&T Donates to United Way of Broward County

(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
AT&T announced a gift of $50,000 to United Way of Broward County,
Florida.

The United Way of Broward County will use the gift to continue its work
to create long-lasting community change. Nationally, the organization
works to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and
health.

In Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding areas, the United Way has a
record of supporting projects that address the basic building blocks of
a good life for the citizens of Broward County. For example, last year,
the organization funded local non-profit agency programs that focused
on assessing problems, researching solutions and measuring results,
along with funding community-wide initiatives such as the Day of Caring
in which more than 800 volunteers renovated a local children's center
that is home to some of the most technologically dependent children in
the country.

Ray Williams, president and CEO of United Way of Broward County, said,
"United Way of Broward County is focusing our resources on achieving
key community outcomes and investing in those strategies that will help
Broward County by addressing the root causes of important issues
affecting us all."

AT&T supports the United Way nationally and in Broward County through

direct contributions and employee gifts.

"At AT&T, our mission is to connect people to their world where they
live and work and do it better than anyone else," said Vic Beninate,
Area Director-External Affairs. "The United Way of Broward County
supports programs that directly affect our community and our citizens'
lives, connecting them with resources and expertise to improve their
situation. The United Way also supports organizations with proven
results, which means that the support we give today has a greater
impact in Broward County. We are pleased to support the United Way of
Broward County."
